Although I am a medicine man, yet most of my hobbies revolve around music. Since early childhood, I have been involved in music in one way or another. From private family occasions to performing in school, this passion for music kept growing...

I was a celebrity at school and the talk of the town. And I never looked back after that great moment. From school performances, I graduated to public performances and concerts.

In 1992, I moved to the Philippines in pursuit of my degree in Medicine, and thus was forced to give up a bright and evolving career in music. But my passion for music never faded, I continued to perform at selected vnues in both Pakistan and the Philippines as a solo performer.

As a guitarist, I self-taught myself the proper playing technique and was able to forge my own distinctive blues-based style that was widely appriciated by my listeners. My blues-based pop and rock has been my tradeark style over the last decade or so. I have also experimented with the fusion of jazz, blues and latino styles with eastern music with considerable success.

My first real boost in singing came in 1979, when I was in grade two. The late president of Pakistan, General Muhammad Zia ul Haq was the chief guest at our annual Parents' Day at school, where I had to sing a song. When I was through with it, I headed back to the students' enclosure when I heard someone call out my name. When I turned around, I saw Mr. President almost running towards me. He approached me and gave me a hug, Kissed me on the cheek and said,"Where did you learn to sing like that, son?" Then, he carried me in his arms to his seat and I watched the rest of the show sitting in his lap. This was the biggest moment of my life.

In 1989, with the help of my friends, who also happened to be good musicians, I formed a band called "Sensations From Wah", which won national acclaim. Later, in 1992, I had to leave the band due to my educational obligations, but remained an irregular member. In the band I had the all important position of Lead Vocalist and Bass Guitarist.
The band split up in 1996, but regrouped in 1998, this time with a new identity... Gravity. Although on a much more sublime level than its predecessor, Gravity continued to play together till the mid of 2000, after which, playing together became a rare novelty.
The band finally ended in 2000. The boys still play individually, some (including me) as solo artists, while the others in different bands. We still, however, cherish every moment we played together and do try our best to find ways to jam together whenever time and our other obligations permit.

As a solo singer, I have received much admiration from my fans in the Philippines and Pakistan. The fact that I can sing in 8 different languages gave me an edge, as I was easily able to adjust in different types of situations and was able to deal with people from various cultures and walks of life effectively.
